Crowcombe Estate Lamb

Rich and tasty

Rich and tasty

The majority of our flock is made up of North Devon mules, which are a crossbred sheep that is hardy and well-suited to the challenging environments of the Estate hillsides on which they graze. We cross our ewes with a Charolais ram. This breed is known for easy lambing and producing excellent meat. Ewes are brought to the lower pasture in the spring to raise their lambs.

Our lambs are raised primarily on natural pastures rather than a grain-based diet, which allows them to grow slowly and naturally, producing a leaner, more flavoursome meat.

“Just roasted a half leg – quite simply delightful. The lambiest tasting lamb I’ve had for ages”

– Kevin, Monksilver

“Bought half a lamb, delivered fresh, really pleased so far. The chops and joints have been delicious”

John, Nether Stowey
