Seasoned Logs
Our seasoned logs are a byproduct of the careful forestry work carried out in woodland across Crowcombe Estate.
Using Continuous Cover Forestry — a sustainable method that favours selective harvesting over clearfelling — we maintain healthy, biodiverse woodland while allowing new trees to regenerate.
Many logs come from managing ash dieback and chestnut blight, giving diseased timber a second life. Wood affected by chestnut blight is also put to good use elsewhere, coppiced to make gates and tree guards for saplings growing in open areas on the Estate.

Crowcombe Estate woodlands are responsibly managed, and our seasoned logs are a byproduct of our forestry work. Much of this wood is ash and chestnut, which burns beautifully; they’ve been felled to control ash dieback and chestnut blight.
