Fat Raven Charcoal is a restaurant-quality hardwood charcoal that enhances the flavour of food while remaining free from additives and accelerants.
It lights easily with just paper and reaches cooking temperature in about 10 minutes, giving off a high, steady heat.
Fat Raven Charcoal is made on the Crowcombe Estate in our sustainably managed woodlands using native British hardwoods; the main species used are Beech, Oak, Sweet Chestnut, and Birch.
Chris Silverwood produces the charcoal using a traditional metal ring kiln; the process involves heating the wood to remove impurities and create nearly pure carbon, resulting in charcoal that lights easily, burns cleanly, and produces high heat quickly.
Bags are approximately 2.25 kg.
Collect from The Carew Arms Pub, Crowcombe, 24 hours after ordering.
